How to Enable 2-Factor Authentication (2FA)

2-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. After you enter your password, you’ll also enter a verification code to confirm it’s really you accessing your account.

How 2-factor authentication works

When 2-factor authentication is enabled, signing in requires:

  • Your account number or email and password

  • A verification code will be sent to your email address or phone number

When you’ll be asked for a verification code

Sign-In checks (with a short “Remembered” period)

You’ll need to enter a verification code during login to confirm your identity. Once 2-factor authentication is enabled, you won’t be asked for a verification code for a short period (14 days) to reduce how often you need to complete verification. If you clear your browser cookies, you may be required to verify again.

Extra Protection for Sensitive Actions

Even if you don’t have 2-factor authentication enabled, we may still require a verification code for certain high-risk actions, such as withdrawals and changes to security preferences, or updates to your account.

Before you start

For your account security, you’ll need to enter a verification code to confirm it's really you. Make sure you have access to the email address or phone number linked to your account; you’ll need it to receive the verification code.

How to enable 2-factor authentication

  1. Press in the header, then choose "My Account".

  2. From the menu, choose "Security Central".

  3. Press "Enable 2FA".

  4. Choose whether you want to receive the verification code by email or SMS. If SMS verification is not available for your phone number's country code, the verification code will be sent automatically via email.

  5. Enter the verification code sent to your email or phone number, then press "Verify Code".

  6. Once the verification code is verified, you’ll see a confirmation message indicating that 2-factor authentication is enabled.

How to disable 2-factor authentication

  1. Go to"My Account".

  2. From the menu, choose"Security Central".

  3. Press "Disable 2FA".

  4. Choose whether you want to receive the verification code by email or SMS. If SMS verification is not available for your phone number's country code, the verification code will be sent automatically via email.

  5. Enter the verification code sent to your email or phone number, then press "Verify Code".

  6. Once the verification code is verified, you’ll see a confirmation message indicating that 2-factor authentication is disabled.
